Lid is crafted to allow a little steam to escape therefore the lid is not tightly fitted.

Just change the cook time on your recipes to accommodate your dish going into a cold oven vs pre-heated. That's it!
• CHEMICAL FREE: Rather than using cookware that could contain PFAS, a known toxic chemical, try our all-natural clay solution. The bottom section is glazed with glass frit lining allowing for easy cleaning. Only the highest levels of clay used which don't contain lead, cadmium, or fillers. All Eurita products are European tested & approved! Microwave and oven safe up to 550 degrees F. Eurita clay roasters are not to be used on grills or stovetops.
• CARE/USE: Soaking the lid before use allows captured water stored in the lid to evaporate and create a blanket of steam. This features is not required and you can use the pot without pre-soaking your lid. Place your filled roaster in the oven before setting your temperature. Place your filled dish to a cold/ or slightly warm oven and then set to your needed temperature. After cooking, be careful to set hot clay pot on a neutral serface like a wooden cutting board or dish towel to avoid temperature shock. After the pot is cooled, hand wash.

Details: Reston Lloyd is pleased to launch their new line of Eurita clay pot cookers. The Eurita brand celebrates the company founder; Rita Bolle, who founded Reston Lloyd five decades ago. Reston Lloyd’s first clay pot cooker was called Schlemmertopf and featured a warm brick oven motif. The new line features not only the brick oven design but comes in large useful sizes. The roaster comes with an unglazed lid which is soaked in water before use. During the cooking process, this absorbed water is released in the form of steam. This steaming method of cooking, will ensure your food is tender as well as infused with all-natural flavors. The bottom section was coated with a glass frit glaze which benefits users with a quick clean up. The lid motif features a baked turkey, vegetables, fish, and loaf of bread. Works the same way as other clay pots like our older versions; Schlemmertopf. Hand wash with regular dish soap suggested. Use in a microwave oven or regular oven up to 500°F.
